Natural oiled Penholders

The natural oiled penholders are suitable for all kinds of pen nibs except for the "drawing pens" and the "tubular pens", for which we offer special holders (see below).

Marbled Penholders

The marbling of these penholders is individually handmade and the marbling therefore varies in design. They are suitable for all kinds of pen nibs except for the "drawing pens" and the "tubular pens", for which we offer special holders.

Penholders with cork grip

These holders have a cork grip and are a bit thicker than the ohter holders. The handle is made from black or mahogany stained beech wood. Please note: → These handles do not fit into the 12.5ml ink bottles that I'm offering here.

Hand turned pen holders

These pen holders are individually turned from precious woods. The grain and coloring of the wood can vary from piece to piece. The globe insert is suitable for all types of nibs except for the drawing nibs and the tubular nibs. If necessary, the globe insert can be replaced.

Length: 20cm, Diameter of grip area: approx. 10mm

Antique penholder with metal cramp

This antique penholder by Heintze & Blanckertz has a handle made of a very beautiful, slightly reddish shimmering wood (probably tropical) and a metal cramp for the nib.

Condition: The holders are unused, but approx. 60 to 80 years old. The wood is sometimes slightly warped, but this does not cause any problems when holding. The cramp is no longer completely shiny due to its age.

Length: approx. 15 cm, diameter: 0.7 cm, i.e. relatively slim.

Oblique Penholder

These special Penholders are used for Copperplate, an elegant seventeenth-century style of writing. The right-hand slope the copperplate hand requires can be helped by the Oblique Penholder which is held at one angle while the nib points in another. Please note: → Not all of the many antique dip pen nibs from the various manufacturers fit perfectly into the holders. If a nib totters, please buckle together with the nib a small peace of paper into the holder.

→ Use this pen holder together with the usual pointed nibs.

Japanese Penholders

These penholders from the japanese manufacturer Tachikawa have a special insert to fit all kinds of pen nibs. The inner band matches the smaller drawing nibs as well as the tubular pens, the outer band matches the lettering nibs, the pointed nibs et cetera. The holders are very stable and perdurable.

School Penholder

This plastic penholder is suitable for all kinds of pen nibs except for the very small drawing nibs and the tubular pens. The holder is very recommendable for pupils, because it is very stable and can be cleaned easily under water.

Penholders for drawing nibs

These penholders have special inserts to make sure that the very small drawing nibs are not tottering. Mind the difference between the holders for normal drawing nibs and holders for tubular pens.

Holder for bird's feathers

This is a normal, shortened penholder with a drill hole at one end for holding a bird's feather. The quill can be glued into the drill hole, if it is too thin. If the quill is broader than the drill hole, make a lateral cut and overlap the cutting edges to make it fit into the drill hole.

Replacement Ferrules for Pen Holders

In case the original ever rusts. The Replacement Ferrules fit for the natural oiled penholders and the marbled penholders. If you craft your own holder, the hole for the ferrule has to be 6mm.
