Lettering nibs are most commonly used for artistic scripts found in books. The stroke width varies depending on the direction in which the nib is drawn.

Lettering nibs are available in different widths for different character sizes.

The thin lines at the beginning or the end of a letter are created by turning the nib on its edge while writing.

The thin lines at the beginning and the end of letters are created by turning the lettering pen on its edge.

These ornamentations can be found in many scripts and give eleganz to the letter.
